OUR STORY
Leo Alquiros discovered his love for food at a young age in the Philippines. As a teenager, he would cook and sell food on the streets of Lucena City. He immigrated to the United States in the early 90s and spent 8 years working in corporate food research. Leo’s first catering opportunity was his daughter’s first birthday. Gaining popularity by word of mouth within the Filipino community, he was able to build his catering experience on a part-time basis. In 1999, Leo’s dream became a reality when he opened his first restaurant in Old Bridge, NJ. Leo believes that food is best enjoyed when shared with others. In his spare time, he enjoys giving back to the community by cooking and distributing free meals in the US and abroad.
Tropical Hut Philippine Cuisine has 6 locations across New Jersey and New York. This was made possible through a successful partnership with Jun Sanchez, Ramil Sanchez, and Jay Umali.
