Our first location opened in 1999 in Old Bridge, New Jersey. We are a small, family business with four locations throughout New Jersey and New York. Tropical Hut offers authentic Filipino food, turo-turo style. We also offer a wide selection of Filipino groceries. Our goal is to provide a complete experience by bringing the flavors and ingredients of our culture into your own home.
"Turo-turo" is a Tagalog term that roughly translates to "point-point" in English. It refers to a popular dining style in the Philippines, where customers can choose from a variety of freshly cooked dishes displayed in a buffet-like setup. Instead of ordering from a menu, customers can simply point at the dishes they want, and the food is served to them.
We also offer party trays for any occasion!
Lumpiang Shanghai
Lumpiang Shanghai is a popular Filipino appetizer. These small spring rolls are filled with a savory mixture of ground pork, vegetables, and seasonings. These crispy bite-sized rolls are served with our homemade sweet chili sauce and are loved for their flavorful and crunchy texture.
Adobo
Adobo is a classic Filipino dish known for its bold and tangy flavors. It consists of meat (usually chicken or pork) marinated and simmered in a savory sauce made from vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and spices, resulting in a delicious and tender meat dish. Adobo is typically served with rice but is also tasty with pancit, or noodles, photographed above.
